Neeraj has more than 16 years of extensive experience across wireless technologies, security, embedded linux, e-commerce, distributed and fault-tolerant systems. He has a passion for learning new technologies and often applies them at work or personal open source or proprietary projects. He has built from scratch a highly consistent, soft-realtime, fault-tolerant and scalable e-commerce transaction platform at redBus powered by Erlang/OTP. The system is designed to be self-monitoring, self-healing, provide live analytics along with auto-management of data via application driven data sharding and archival. This platform replaces an years old system powering millions of transactions in production at redBus. The system is also designed to enable new team members to deliver new functionality meeting the every growing demand for faster time to market by providing a clean, flexible design along with plethora of interfaces for system monitoring and live inspection. He has built a high performance team on Erlang/OTP, which is delivering value within a quarter. He was one of the core members of Vanu Inc India's R&D center which started in 2007. Vanu, Inc. provides innovative wireless infrastructure solutions to enable operators to access new markets and new revenue streams. Before joining Vanu Inc, Neeraj worked with Alcatel-Lucent as a Lead Engineer and earlier at Convergelabs software technologies Pvt Ltd. He has a varied interest ranging from low level system development (embedded) to distributed and fault-tolerant systems. He is an opensource enthusiast and authored number of projects apart from a couple of notable contributions as well. Research interests include (but not limited to) multi-core / parallel programming, scalable / distributed, fault-tolerance, unikernel and their application in microservices and IoT.
