Mirella Beltram has been at Polaris since 2015 supporting the Global Program in documenting and tracking best practices, new strategies, and approaches in human trafficking as well as working on the Global Modern Slavery Directory (GMSD) through research and conducting engagement outreach in multiple languages. Since mid 2017 Mirella has been the manager of the Global Modern Slavery Director and in charge of leading direct engagement with a portfolio of key stakeholders to advance the GMSD, managing the National Human Trafficking Hotline's international protocols for human trafficking case response, and working across teams to enhance the GMSD technologies and proactively identify opportunities for more effective processes. Previous to coming to Polaris, Mirella was an AP Spanish Language and Literature teacher in North Carolina for five years and on the Board for the Latin American Women's Association.
Mirella has a B.A. in International Relations and Political Science from Loyola University Chicago, a M.A. in Spanish Language and Literature from Universidad de Salamanca, and a M.A. in International Affairs with concentrations in Global Gender Policy and International Affairs and Development from George Washington University.
