Member since 2 years
My name is Milos Dordevic. I am 38 years old mid-career professional from Serbia. My current working position is Criminal Police Investigator - Police Captain within the Criminal Police Directorate at the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, Department for Suppression of Human Trafficking and Illegal Migrations at the Police Directorate in the CIty of Nis (second biggest city in Serbia). Alongside with my investigative work on complex transnational organized crime cases, I am in charge for the negotiating Chapter 24 of the EU integrations process of the Republic of Serbia through my field of expertise and comprehensive specialization on Trafficking in Human Beings and Irregular Migrations. My daily basis collaboration with various international organizations and the Office for Coordination of Activities in Fight Against Trafficking in Human Beings has enabled me not only to contribute to the overall reforms which are ongoing in Serbia but I was also able to learn and to gain valuable knowledge in this field.
At the Police College in Belgrade I gained my Bachelor's degree. At the Academy Of Criminal and Police Studies in Belgrade I have gained my Masters of Criminology degree. I had an honor and privilege to upgrade my education at the Global Studies Institute of the University of Geneva, Switzerland, at the MAS in International and European Security program (conducted jointly with the Geneva Centre for Security Policy -GCSP) where I have gained the degree of Master of Advanced Studies in International and European Security. Following my studies, my working engagement shifted to international operational activities and multidimensional security management projects. I have proudly accomplished the 2014/2015 Hubert H. Humphrey program - Fulbright program, funded by the US Department of State at the University of Minnesota Law School which was conducted at the Human Rights Center of the Law School in Minneapolis, MN. I went through and learned about various training activities and educational and practical tools for support, training and evaluation of the security sector reform, particularly in the rule of law and police reforms area with special focus on Trafficking in Human Beings. I spent one year Professional Affiliation with Minneapolis Police Department and Department of Homeland Security as a trainee and intern with the Serious Crimes Division – Child Sex Trafficking Section.
Through my 13 years long career in the security sector and continuous education, I have gained valuable operational and tactical experience in the field of Human Trafficking, through collaboration with many law enforcement agencies on national, regional and international level with special accent on public private partnership and cooperation with the nongovernmental organizations. I was able to extend my academic knowledge alongside with gaining practical expertise and my international experience and education shifted to higher level of ability to implement strategic planning and managerial projects at the public policy level and much beyond.
I started to build my career in 2005 as a security officer at the British Embassy in Belgrade where I was in charge for managing many complex security projects and protocols and close dignitary protection activities. Further, through my over a decade long work as a criminal investigator I have been involved in many projects of national and international importance including emergency security management, engagement through specialized task forces and groups, conducting complex assignments on a national, regional and international level, engaging in public private partnerships and joint security projects with partners and all relevant stakeholders across the state and nationally, very actively, engaging in the field of Human Trafficking and Irregular Migrations.
United States of America, through its various projects and programs is a constant and pro-active partner of my country and its all relevant public and private stakeholders for establishing and maintaining a strong democratic and secure environment for the victims of violence and trafficking, which is more than necessary, thus, I believe that my comprehensive experience within Ministry of Interior as well as my international education, comprehensive training and experience will help me to fit into the Conference goals requirements and to provide the most appropriate and relevant presentation.
With my best regards,
