There is this buzzword “Agile” everywhere in almost all industry not just the IT industry. Every corner of a company is trying to adopt Agile. Every company or team wants to embrace Agile and deliver value to their customers. However, the big question
that remains unanswered is how truly these organizations or teams understand the core values and principles of Agile (Agile Manifesto in short)As we are aware “responding to change over following a plan” is one of the core values in the manifesto. How do we embrace change?
In this talk, the speaker will give some practical tips/tricks/techniques to develop agility at personal or individual level and embrace change. In turn, these practices will the help individual to evolve and become better. Then he/she can easily carry some of the patterns or habits in to his/her professional life and strive for professional agility as well. In short, what started as personal level agility or transformation can eventually be scaled in another dimensions of his/her life.
From the organizational point of view, it can be visualized as follows;
Individual agility -> Team agility -> Departmental agility -> Organizational/Business agility
Key takeaways:participants can start implementing some of the techniques in their life and start seeing the changes in their lives (both personally and professionally), if they consistently practice them

The art and science behind a habit and how it will bring about change in mindset
45 Mins
Demonstration
Advanced
In this demonstration I am going to facilitate a session which describes both the art and science behind a habit followed by a game. And there will be a debrief on how we can apply this in our real lives through 6 Steps to develop & sustain a habit and bring about change in mindset.
Inspiration: Charles Duhigg is a reporter for The New York Times and author of The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business. He says, every habit has three components.
- A cue, which is like a trigger for the behavior to start unfolding.
- A routine, which is the habit itself, the behavior, the automatic sort of doing what you do when you do a habit.
- And a reward. The reward is how our neurology learns to encode this pattern for the future.
And most of us, when we think about habits, we only focus on the behavior or the routine, isn’t it? But Charles says that it’s the cue and the reward that really determine why a habit unfolds.

Business transformation using 4DX approach and Scrum as the engine
20 Mins
Experience Report
Beginner
When my previous organization (Travel Technology company) embarked on Agile Transformation journey, we started with Scrum framework. After 6 months, when coaches met with Agile Transformation Leader for a review, we realized that the results were sub-optimal. When we did a deeper drive into to find out root causes, we realized that the Business Units were having many initiatives and focused on many things. For them, agile was just another change initiative to the existing priorities. That’s when we started to discover how we can address their current business priorities through agile methods. And we came across 4DX (4 Disciplines of Execution). 4DX is a FranklinCovey's execution approach that talks about taking action on your strategic goals, not developing more theory. There are four clear road maps to help you overcome the “whirlwind” of the day-to-day work that keeps leaders, and teams, from executing the programs that drive real change.
The Four Disciplines are:
- Focus on the Wildly Important
- Act on the Lead Measures
- Keep a Compelling Scoreboard
- Create a Cadence of Accountability
In this talk I am going to share about my experience in implementing 4DX approach with Scrum as the product development engine.
