Abstract:
What does your mindfulness practice look like? Is it still a practice if you don't meditate or do yoga?
Human development is largely driven by changes that take place in the body and the brain. As we strive to create and be a part of high performing teams, having an awareness of the physiology, neuroscience, and the power of empathy will greatly increase our probably of success. Even more powerful, is having the capability of AWARENESS of ones self and our environment. How do we foster and create an environment where you and your colleagues can experience the feeling of being understood, lead with empathy, and create generative solutions through dialogue. Mindful Leadership provides clarity and enhances the journey through the important work we are doing.
Please join me on this exploration of the the physiology of the brain, patterns of the mind, how each of our individuals stories create our perspectives, and how our current agile and coaching models incorporate aspects of mindfulness. -

Workshop

“The single biggest failure of leadership is to treat adaptive challenges like technical problems.” -Ron Heifetz
We live and work in an increasingly interconnected and rapidly changing world. New business models are shifting duties to teams instead of individuals, which means people are now working more closely together. It also means leaders at all levels have to begin to adapt their leadership style to guide the intricacies of human dynamics and channel the collective knowledge of the groups they interact with.
In this workshop we will explore how leaders create environments that navigate the complexity of interpersonal relationships, overcome the human element of barriers to change, and support the growth and engagement of their employees. Attendees will walk out of the room with a clearer idea of their own leadership style and a list of action items they can use (tomorrow!) to move their teams one step closer to higher performance.

What every Product Manager needs to know about scaling Agile
Product managers play a crucial role in a scaled Agile organization. But what does it truly mean to play this role? Product Owners sit with the scrum team and make the day-to-day decisions that fundamentally shape your products. Product Managers want to make sure the reality of the product direction is in line with what the market needs, but don’t have the time to sit with 10 scrum teams. What is the role of the Product Manager in a scaled agile organization and what role should PMs be playing in defining, executing, and commercializing an organization's product offering? How can Product Managers effectively manage and communicate the product roadmap when hundreds or thousands of stakeholders are involved?
