Information radiators Boon or Bane? - A novel approach

Information radiators help us take better decisions in the value stream and agility comes to life. But do all information radiators help us to take better decisions? In this presentation, we share some light on what all information radiators have helped us take better decisions in our journey as Scrum masters by highlighting some boons and banes. We also cover guidelines, benefits and also list "Minimum lovable information radiators(MLIR)" that can help us be more agile each and every day.

Are all the information radiators meant for every one in the organization?

Towards the end of session a 15 min workshop will focus on answering above question and how we can bring role based accountability to make information radiators more effective and Boon to the organization.


Outline/Structure of the Talk

1) "What" and "Why" of information radiators. - 3 mins

A very brief introduction to information radiators and why need to use them by highlighting the benefits

2) Examples of Boon and Bane scenarios of using information radiators. - 3 mins

3) 9 practical examples of information radiators from our experience and how they helped us. We will also cover if we had any banes in the journey. - 25 mins

4) Workshop on "Role based Minimum Lovable information radiators(MLIR)" - 15 mins

Learning Outcome

1) How information radiators can help us and how the same information radiator can cause a bane based on our experience with some IRs.

2) Role based MLIR(Minimum lovable information radiator) helps set the expectation as to Who should be accountable for maintaining and taking action on the information radiators.
